Phil Morell- Membership Chairman
CRCA is now at 30 member boats. This means we have 'lost' 7 previous 2006 members. Have you paid your 2007 dues which were payable January 1st?
Please remember to notify me of any changes to your address, phone number, email address, etc. This affects whether you might receive the Catscan and any notices sent out over the club email system.
Current members, take a look along your dock. Are there any 'non-CRCA' Catalinas around your boat? How about any Catalinas that used to belong to the CRCA and don't any longer. Maybe you could stop by and let them know what we're up to and how much fun they are missing. There is still time for new members to get on board for the current CRCA cruising and racing seasons.
Membership applications are available on the CRCA web site: www. crcasail.org.

Fun Race June 2nd
Doug Post - Fun Race Chairman
Announcing the 2007 “We’re Still Going to Have Fun Even though They’re Going to make us Vote on those Proposals Regatta” (Wait a minute. We can’t call it that. It’s too many letters to put on the award flags!) I guess we’ll just have to call it the Fun Race again.
This year’s fun race will be held Saturday, June 2. The first gun will be at 11 a.m. at CR1. There will be one start only, and we’re racing with just a single sail, either main or Genoa. Scoring will be by the “make it up as ya go along Doug Post system.” The order of finish counts, but not as much as having fun. If I told you how the scoring system works, what fun would that be. Points will be awarded for making the race committee laugh. The harder they laugh, the more points you get.
The course will either be to the A mark (course heading 330 degrees) or the B mark (course heading 030 degrees). Green flag up = 10 minute warning. Green flag down = start.
A barbecue will follow the race at the Markley Marina gazebo starting around 3 p.m. Look for the CRCA banner. Cost per person will be $5. Remember to bring your own beverages and lawn chairs. As always, a general membership meeting will follow the barbecue.
We hope to see you all there. You definitely don’t need to know the rules of racing for this event. Just come out and have a good time. If you need on-course instructions, motor by the committee boat shortly before the race begins at 11 a.m.
Your Fun Race Hosts, Doug & Jean Post “Whippin’ Post”
