As reported to the CRCA Board of Directors by the Sub-committee on Guest Protocol regarding the
CRCA Constitution and Bylaws,
1. The Associate Member provision in the CRCA constitution should continue to stand as written.
2. The Honorary Member provision should continue to stand as written.
Because it is its intent to provide a means of recognizing persons who have provided, or may provide in the future, commercial, political, or other tangible advantages to the CRCA.
The following will be added as clarification to the constitution under Membership Eligibility:
4. Guests who are staying on a members boat for any part of a cruise or rendezvous; whether they sailed to the event on the members boat or came by other means (other than their own boat), should be considered as crew of the hosting member boat. As such they are welcome to the all the amenities, and to participate in all activities associated with that event for the duration of the event. Any prizes, awards, or party favors that may be distributed should be awarded to the host's boat. Guests participating in competitions are to be considered as to be competing as part of the host boat's team and any honors or prizes from the competition should be awarded solely to the hosting boat's skipper who may then retain or distribute the items as the skipper sees fit.
A "ballot vote" shall be taken on the following at the next general membership meeting.
One vote per boat by members in good standing.
Amendment to CRCA Constitution
NON-MEMBER BOATS ON CRCA CRUISES
The CRCA will sponsor at least one, but not more than half of the cruises or rendezvous for each season that will be open to non-members. The actual number of open cruises will be determined by the cruise committee for that season. These open cruises shall be open to all makes and type of boats (sail or power). Non-member boats will make their own reservations with marinas; but must register their intent to participate in the event with the cruise leader, at least one week prior to the cruise. Visitors or visiting boats that are not registered for the cruise will not be allowed to participate in cruise events nor partake of cruise amenities. However, registered boats are, of course, free to associate with and entertain the crew of unregistered boats on their own boat.
