Well, the days are getting shorter but you hardly noticed. I did make the appointment to haul Flying Duchess on the 22nd of October to let the bottom dry out for the winter, but that is nearly 2 months away with plenty of warm days to enjoy. |

The crew of Flying Duchess had a special vacation on Lake Huron (God’s country, as Phil Morell would say) this July. The weather Gods smiled on us with sun, one day of sprinkles and NO LIGHTENING. The ports were roomy. We had no trouble getting dockage, even in Port Sanilac with the Harbor festival going on. |

We met the Francis’ there on Dashing Wave. They had some bad luck at the onset to their trip. Mary slipped and broke her ankle in three places. That put a halt to their trip, but she was in good sprits when we saw her (could have been good pain killers). We hope she has a speedy recovery. |

We have had some great fun on the cruises this season with venues that were not crowded. At the raft off we went for a tequila dingy ride to some of the south channels off Black Creek. One of the participants had to go potty, so with the help of the tokillya she asked a POWER BOATER to use the head to make more room. He was gracious....here’s hoping none of our dinghies had CRCA on them. |

The international race day sounds like fun, hope we get some of the closet racers out to join in. |

We have a tentative date of December 5 for a membership meeting at Kent Sails on Jefferson to elect officers, more to follow. If anyone is interested in volunteering a little time to be an officer or committee chair see Ken Bousum. It doesn’t take much of your time and we all seem to have a great fun. |
