2009 Cruise Committee
Hello Fellow Sailors:
After this cold and snowy winter all of us will definitely be ready for our 2009 Sailing Season.
Thank you again to all of you that responded to our cruise poll. It was a real help to us planning our cruise year. Your comments were very much appreciated too!
We added a couple of new adventures to this year’s schedule of events.
They are as follows::
1. The Idle Hour Yacht Club on the South Channel. This cruise may or may not take place depending on the water depth. Let’s hope for the best. If you choose to sign up for this, we will definitely keep you posted. This cruise you will want to bring your bikes to bicycle on Harsens Island and your dinghies to motor over to Muskimute Bay to Play and Swim.
2. Tour de Markley. This will be a walking cruise. All of us will be visiting and touring CRCA boats in small groups for drinks, snacks, and idea exchanges in the early afternoon. This will be the time to share your projects with other Catalina owners (Including the Locke’s beautiful Beneteau.) Then we will all gather at the gazebo for more food and drinks or a BBQ. The main event is a night sail to wherever the wind may take us with couples joining each other on a few boats to share the stars, wind and sailing adventures. Finally, we end with a nightcap and a bonfire back at the marina. We may also include a dock box sale. Bring your nautical items you would like to sell or trade. For those of you traveling from other marinas you may want to call Markely for a transient slip.
As in the past, look for detailed information of each cruise in upcoming CATSCAN Publications.
You will notice as you read the cruise schedule below that we are in need of CRUISE LEADERS. If you are interested, we could sure use your help. Please let Becky or I know by May 1st.
Happy Cruising,
Becky Smith “Twice Blessed”
Judi Schoenherr “Morning Star II”
